The BJP government in the state has granted hundreds of acres of land to industries at throwaway prices, but when it came to giving land to the poor and homeless, it excuses itself, saying it has no land. The poor, landless and homeless sections of the state are in a miserable plight today. If elected to power, Congress will allot 100 yard plots to homeless families in rural Gujarat, and make arrangements for loans upto Rs. 1lakh for families, that will help them construct homes upto 30 sq. mt area. These loans would be subsidized by 50 percent by the Congress government.
