PRAJA VIKAS DARSHAN 2012, POINT 3: BENEFITS OF 6th PAY COMMISSION TO GOVERNMENT SERVANTS

The Gujarat High Court has directed the BJP Government in the state to pay total wages as per recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission to the “Fixed Pay” workers. If Congress forms the next government, it will put into practice, the principles of “Equal work, equal pay”, and also implement the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission for 10 lakh government/semi-government and 6 lakh retired employees. If voted to power, Congress will also set up the Gujarat Administrative Tribunal(GAT), on the pattern of Central Administrative Tribunal, for handling individual grievances of employees. In the last one decade, not a single government post has been filled up, and around 70,000 vacancies exist in state government offices. Lakhs of employees are deprived of even minimum wages. Congress plans to fill all vacant posts and implement the directives of the 5th and 6th Pay Commissions both in letter and spirit, if elected to power.
